CAN bus integration, from signal to system
Every signal you need off a modern vehicle's CAN bus, and the engineering to build what isn't on the shelf. Scorpion designs and manufactures CAN electronics in the UK.
Signals off the CAN bus
The outputs installers reach for most, taken cleanly off the vehicle network.
Speed pulse output
A clean speed-pulse signal off the CAN bus for telematics, tachographs and speed-dependent kit.
Learn moreReverse trigger
A reverse-gear output to switch aftermarket cameras and parking aids.
Learn moreParking sensor interface
CAN-derived control for retrofit parking-sensor systems.
Learn moreIgnition & accessory outputs
Switched-live and accessory outputs, so add-on electronics power up with the vehicle.
Learn morePark-brake output
A handbrake signal for screens and video-in-motion setups.
Learn moreIllumination signal
A panel-illumination output for head units and displays that dim with the dash.
Learn moreLighting triggers
High-beam, DRL and side-light detection to drive light bars and auxiliary lighting.
Learn moreBeacon & work-light control
Low-amp triggers to switch beacons, work lights and aux lighting.
Learn moreMulti-output interface
Speed, ignition, reverse, illumination and park-brake from a single connection.
Learn moreRPM output
An engine-speed signal for PTO and auxiliary equipment.
Learn moreTelematics takeoff
Speed and status feeds for tracking and fleet devices, with no cutting into the factory loom.
Learn moreCommercial vehicle interface
Heavy-truck signal takeoffs, including side-scan and safety-camera control.
Learn moreWhen a single interface isn't enough
Some jobs need more than one signal on a wire. As a manufacturer with our own R&D, we build the system, not just the module.
Multiplexed systems
Replace a loom of relays and fuses with digital switching. Our group company Intellitec MV builds multiplexed power and control for buses, emergency vehicles and specialist builds.
Intellitec MVCAN security
X-Series reads the vehicle network to immobilise it, and resists the CAN-injection and keyless attacks thieves use on modern cars.
Vehicle securityBespoke & OE development
Custom CAN electronics designed and built to your requirement, to automotive quality standards, including line-fit OE programmes.
OEM & bespokeSpeed limiting
Govern a fleet to a set maximum with true drive-by-wire limiting from group company Autokontrol, using real road speed off the CAN bus.
Speed limiter interfaceRunlock
Keep the engine running with the key out and the vehicle secure, so beacons and equipment stay powered at a scene, with the safety conditions read off the network.
Runlock systemBuilt for the vehicles that need more
Converters & upfitters
Signals and power for cameras, lighting, screens and equipment on van and truck conversions.
Emergency vehicles
Beacons, runlock, scene lighting and secure electronics for blue-light builds.
Fleet & telematics
Clean speed and status feeds for trackers and tachographs across a mixed fleet.
OEMs & manufacturers
Line-fit CAN electronics developed and supplied to vehicle manufacturers and their tier-one suppliers.
CAN bus, answered
What is a CAN bus interface?
It reads the digital messages on a vehicle network and turns them into simple 12V outputs, so you can add cameras, lighting or telematics without cutting into the factory wiring.
Which signals can you take off the CAN bus?
Speed, RPM, reverse, ignition, park-brake, illumination and lighting, among others. As single outputs, or several from one connection.
Do you have to splice into the loom?
No. The interface connects to the network, not the factory loom, so the install stays clean and reversible.
Can you develop a bespoke CAN solution for our vehicles?
Yes. We design and manufacture CAN electronics in the UK to automotive quality standards, including line-fit OE programmes. Tell us what you need.
